Riley Wheeldon, Wil Collins and Stephen Gangluff Earn Exemptions into RBC Canadian Open

Golf Canada and RBC are pleased to extend three players exemptions through PGA TOUR Canada’s Order of Merit for the 2013 RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club.

Among those extended tournament invites are Riley Wheeldon, of Comox, B.C., Wil Collins of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Stephen Gangluff of Marysville, Ohio.

Wheeldon, the No. 1 ranked player on PGA TOUR Canada’s Order of Merit, earned his first victory last week at the Syncrude Boreal Open presented by AECON. The 22-year-old also finished in a tie for third at the season opening Times Colonist Island Saving Open and was the winner of the NGA TOUR’s Kandy Waters Memorial Classic earlier this season.

Collins currently sits in second position on the Order of Merit after his victory at the Dakota Dunes Open presented by SaskTel. A product of the University of New Mexico, Collins also qualified for the 2013 U.S. Open.

Rounding out the list of exemptions at No. 3 on the Order of Merit is Gangluff, winner of the season opening Times Colonist Island Savings Open.

With Wheeldon’s exemption through PGA TOUR Canada, the number of Canadians in the field rises to 16 at this year’s RBC Canadian Open. Four additional exemptions will be awarded through final qualifying on Monday, July 22 at Heron Point Golf Links in Alberton, Ont.
