Want to get outdoors this summer? The Town of Oakville has many parks, cycleways, trails, heritage systems and woodlots for you to explore, stretch your legs, walk the dog or fly a kite. Before heading out, visit the new interactive maps on the town’s Explore Oakville online mapping tool to help plan your outing.

“Council supports developing online resources that simplify the way Oakville residents access information to explore our amazing town,” said Mayor Rob Burton. “The new interactive maps are great tools for planning an outdoor Oakville adventure with family and friends.”

The new interactive maps have informative and helpful features to help you.

The “Greenspace” map has a “point identify” feature which allows you to see exactly what kind of greenspace is nearby from parks and natural heritage systems to valley lands and wood lands.

The “Trails and Cycleways” map shows Oakville’s cycleways, trails, walkways and trail features, and also includes up-to-date information on trail closures. There is also a link to Google Street View so cyclists can see the bike route and determine if it meets their needs before leaving home.

Explore Oakville provides a user-friendly experience combined with advanced search options. Residents and visitors can also access content on a mobile device with a customized interface for phones and tablets featuring larger buttons and simpler content.
