The planets have aligned. Sheridan College hosts the Top Women's Soccer Team (Oakville Blue Devils) in the province in the return leg of their play-off tie. That same afternoon, there will be a battle between the two best Men's teams of League1 Ontario. Super soccer Sunday takes place on August 11th.

Super Sunday Soccer -  Women's Match

After defeating Darby FC away in the first leg, the Oakville Blue Devils FC Women will return to Sheridan College with a comfortable 2-0 lead on aggregate, and a clear line of sight to a birth into the 2nd round of the playoffs.

During the weekend, team Captain Laura Twiddle and midfielder Jivan Yacou scored goals for Oakville

Goalie, Elisa Lapadula continued in fine form as she earned yet another clean sheet. Her first of the play-offs and the sixth of 2019.

Poland U-15 Call-Up Patrycia Kozak even managed 13 minutes of playing time for Oakville.

There will be a trophy presentation prior to Kick-off that will see League1 Ontario Commissioner Dino Rossi commemorate the Blue Devils Women’s Regular Season Championship.

The women's match takes place at 2:00 PM at Sheridan College - Trafalgar Campus.

Super Sunday Soccer - Men's Match

The Blue Devils Men will be back in action on Super Sunday Soccer after a well deserved long-weekend off.

Oakville's Men have managed to go the entire 2019 season only suffering one defeat at the hands of reigning League1 Ontario Champions, Vaughan Azzurri.

This weekend's opponent Alliance United is currently ranked first in the league, a large reason for this is their defensive play. Alliance have given up just 5 goals over 13 matches.

Oakville is in second spot with only 8 goals allowed. Blue Devils keeper, Luke Birnstingl is having an all-star calibre season with 8 clean sheets in 2019, bested only by Alliance's Praveen Ahilan with 9. Oakville striker, Evan James has found the back of the net 7 times in his last 5 games to take over the scoring lead for the Blue Devils with 8 for the season.

Oakville Blue Devils Men’s Head Coach Duncan Wilde believes this will be the most important game of the season. He isn't underestimating his opponents.

"They're very creative. They're a strong squad and have had a fantastic season, so we're taking it very seriously, " stated Coach Wilde.

He continued, "they're a very difficult team to beat. They don't concede a lot of goals, and neither do we. They look like they want to attack and are very quick on the counter-attack. It has all the makings of the best game of the season”

The winner of this match will head into the final week of 2019 as the first place team going into the playoffs.

Men vs.Alliance United FC takes place at 5:00 pm at Sheridan College Trafalgar Campus
