OakvilleGives celebrates giving and volunteerism this Tuesday

On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, OakvilleGives, local charities and businesses in our community come together to promote as well as celebrate volunteerism and philanthropy.

OakvilleGives is the local effort of GivingTuesday, a global giving movement. Just as Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season, GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season.

This year, OakvilleGives consists of local charities and businesses conducting donation drives, volunteer appreciation, video releases and promoting Giving Tuesday on social media.

GivingTuesday, the global day of generosity, continues to gain traction across the country in its sixth year. Thousands of partner organizations and millions of Canadians expected take part.

Since 2013, #GivingTuesdayCA united millions of Canadians who support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.

The impact of GivingTuesday goes well beyond charitable donations, inspiring giving in all its forms.

GivingTuesday has received an official Mayoral Proclamation by Oakville Mayor Rob Burton.
