August 12, 1938 – August 4, 2024
Lise Wareham, nee Dansereau, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 4, 2024, surrounded by her family, 8 days shy of her 86th birthday.
Lise was the second oldest of seven children, born in Valleyfield Quebec to parents Evelyn (Harris) and Roland Dansereau. She grew up in the Montreal, Beauharnois-Salaberry, and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions before settling in the Montreal suburb of Beaconsfield, where she happily lived for over 40 years, prior to moving to Oakville, Ontario to be close to her 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren.
Lise lived every day with a joie de vivre, sharing her warm smile, kind disposition, generous spirit, and dry wit, delivered with a sparkle in her eyes, with friends, family, and acquaintances alike. A lady with many talents, she equally enjoyed activities on the rustic side like fishing, gardening, or digging for clams, quiet pursuits of crossword puzzles or winning at Scrabble or a card game or enjoying the finer things in life - shopping, food, wine, and travel. She was happiest when surrounded by family or friends, living every moment to its fullest. She had a gift of making a lasting impression on those who spent more than a moment with her, leaving family and friends with a wealth of cherished memories of great times shared.
Lise took pride in her culinary skills and in keeping her beautiful home and gardens impeccably well-kept. She was an even prouder wife, mother, and grandmother, always the biggest cheerleader, guide, and advocate. She will be remembered not only for her beauty inside and out but for her genuinely loving and selfless nature. In the best and worst times, Lise was known for her unwavering devotion to helping her family and friends face any challenge, demonstrating resilience, focus, and outstanding compassion.
Lise will be dearly missed by the family and friends that she leaves behind. Her husband of over 60 years, John Wareham. Her daughters Trish (Pete Kershaw), Brenda (Jacques Lepage), and Donna (Mark Pallotta). Her grandchildren Josh, Alex, Jessie, Stephie, Nicole, and Ryan, as well as great-grandchildren Arlo, Beatrix, and Johnny. Her sisters Carole and Louise and brother Michel, her nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and friends. She is predeceased by her two sisters, brother, four brothers-in-law, and nephew.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the same location at 10:30 am, followed by a Reception. A private interment will follow the reception.
The family would like to thank the many kind caregivers who supported Lise over the last few years. While Lise loved flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
