Educator Danna Horwood of Hamilton and founder of Margaret's Legacy has been very busy honouring YOM HASHOAH – International Holocaust Memorial Day which was on April 28th, 2014.

Mrs. Horwood finished her last presentation last Friday May 2, 2014 telling the story of her grandparents escape from Hungary to Canada during the Holocaust and how they started a new life and family in Canada.

“These past few days have been truly amazing and I am very grateful for all of the support that I have received to be able to do what I am doing, a big thank-you to Shaarei-Beth El synagogue.

Margaret’s Legacy is a thirty-five minute video that documents the story of Horwood’s grandparents who were separated during the Holocaust and reunited years later. Their story is a beautiful testament to the strength of love, courage and hope.

“The feedback from the schools that I visited this week has been extremely positive and I am sincerely grateful to be able to keep this story alive through Margaret’s Legacy and through the support of the Weisz Family Foundation” says Danna Horwood.

Danna Horwood invites interested educational organizations to contact her to book a presentation. As a humanitarian project, Danna travels to your school and shows Margaret and Arthur’s Story free of charge. Her travel is funded through the Weisz Family Foundation, which supports Margaret’s Legacy and a number of other not-for-profit and charitable organizations.
