Halton Police are investigating an attempted home break-in last weekend in southwest Oakville.

Police say the incident took place last Sunday, Dec. 8 at approximately 9:15 p.m. near Third Line and Rebecca Street.

A male suspect was seen entering the backyard of a house near the intersection. The suspect was caught on a camera in the backyard of the property, set up by the residents of the home.

Once the suspect was seen on camera by the residents, they spoke to him through the camera's speaker and asked him what he was doing on their property. When the suspect heard the voice of the people inside the house over the speakers, he fled the area.

The suspect did not enter the property, and did not steal anything from the civilians inside the house.

Police have described the suspect as a "male wearing dark clothing."

No arrests have so far been made on the attempted break in.
