Burlington man faces child luring charges

Police say the accused used a number of social media applications, and utilized the username “KingExplosion”

During the month of July, 2024, members of the Halton Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (I.C.E) commenced a joint, online investigation with the Ontario Provincial Police utilizing a number of social media platforms.

As a result of this investigation, on Oct. 3, 2024, Eric Straughan-Ostrosky (28) of Burlington, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Luring a Child (3 Counts)
  • Making Child Pornography

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Investigators are concerned there may be further victims (accused photo attached). It should be noted the accused used a number of social media applications, and utilized the username “KingExplosion”.

Halton Regional Police Service reminds parents of the importance of monitoring your child's online social media presence, and having a conversation with them about internet safety and the disclosure of personal information.
