It was a frightening scene at a local optometry practice yesterday afternoon.

Halton police media relations officer Ryan Anderson reports that four masked men – one with a hammer – smashed the glass door at All Eyes on Me at the Derry Road/Bronte Street plaza at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 21).

Employees and witnesses fled to the back of the store while the culprits took the cash register and glasses from display cases before fleeing the area.

No physical injuries were suffered during the incident.

Police are still working on descriptions for both the suspects and the vehicle.

No dollar amount is yet available on the stolen property.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact police at 905-825-4777.
