Police have arrested a suspect, who was reportedly on probation, following an alleged robbery near Oakville Place Mall on Sunday.

On Aug. 18, officers responded to a report of a robbery in the area of Leighland Avenue and Kent Avenue.

Said Halton Police Media Relations Officer Ryan Anderson, the "female victim was walking when approached by the suspect who asked for the time. When the victim pulled out her phone the suspect snatched it."

It's alleged that when the victim attempted to get her phone back, the suspect pushed and threatened her before fleeing on foot.

Officers later located the suspect and made an arrest.

A 29-year-old male of no fixed address has been charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, obstructing a peace officer, and failure to comply with probation.
