Oakville resident charged with impaired driving after Fergus crash

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge an Oakville resident with two criminal charges stemming from a motor vehicle collision.

On January 13, 2025, at approximately 3:15 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP attended the scene of a single motor vehicle collision on Guelph Street within the Town of Fergus.

As a result of the investigation, Samantha Chafe, a 21-year-old of Oakville is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on January 21, 2025.
