Police charge two teens following attempted robbery at Oakville Place parking lot

Police say victim escaped unharmed after one of the suspects brandished a knife

Halton Police have charged two local teenagers in connection with an attempted robbery at the Oakville Place shopping centre parking lot on the evening of Jan. 3, 2025.

According to police, the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. when a male youth was approached by two other male youths who demanded his jacket. One of the suspects reportedly brandished a pocket knife during the encounter.

The victim managed to flee the scene and was not physically injured, police say.

Following an investigation, police arrested two suspects: the first being a 15-year-old male from Oakville, charged with robbery and disguise with intent. He was released on an undertaking.

A 17-year-old male, also from Oakville, has been charged with robbery and is held for a bail hearing.

The identity of the victim, including his age and residence, has been withheld to protect his privacy.
