Police investigate alleged sexual assault at Provincial park in Oakville

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred last night at Bronte Creek Provincial Park.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred last night (July 25, 2024) at Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville.

Residents reported that OPP officers made contact with neighbourhoods in the area, searching for security footage or information that could assist with the investigation.

Details on the investigation are limited. OPP Constable Scott Stratton told reporters, "We're investigating reports of a possible sexual assault last night in the Oakville area."

Halton Police Media Relations Officer Ryan Anderson mentioned that Halton police were initially assisting. However, since the incident took place in Bronte Creek Provincial Park, it falls under the jurisdiction of the OPP.
