Police are currently investigating after two cars were stolen from an Oakville neighbourhood on June 13, 2024, after one of the vehicles was recovered in Peel.

Both vehicles were stolen from the driveways of homes on Watson Avenue on the evening of June 13.

According to Halton Police Constable Ryan Anderson, a BMW SUV was taken at around 5:40 p.m. after the keys were left in the vehicle. This vehicle has not yet been recovered.

Another nearby driveway had its Land Rover SUV taken sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Constable Anderson says the method of theft is currently unknown to police.

According to Peel Police Constable Tyler Bell-Morena, early morning reports came in on June 14, 2024, about a suspicious vehicle parked on Catcay Court in Mississauga for "some time."

Police arrived at 7 a.m. and located the vehicle.

Constable Bell-Morena said, "Officers located the aforementioned vehicle, a 2024 Land Rover Defender. The vehicle was seized and processed by our forensics services."

No arrests have been made, and there are no suspect details at this time.

Constable Anderson says police are "certainly considering the potential" for both vehicle thefts to be connected.
