Update, June 14, 5 p.m.: An arrest has been made in connection with an investigation of a sexual assault that occurred on a GO Train bound for Oakville earlier this week.
The Halton Regional Police Service announced this afternoon that 30-year-old Magdy Ibrahim of Mississauga was arrested on Thursday.
Ibrahim has been charged with one count of sexual assault and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
Police say that, at the time of his arrest, Ibrahim was in breach of multiple release orders with conditions to reside with his surety at a Mississauga residence. The conditions stem from similar charges he is facing in other jurisdictions.
Ibrahim was held in custody by Halton police pending a bail hearing in a Milton court.

The Halton Regional Police Service sex assault unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect wanted in a sexual assault earlier this week in Oakville.
Police say on Monday at around 12:15 a.m., a female was riding the GO Train westbound from Toronto to Oakville.
A male suspect intently watched the female, and repositioned himself closer to her multiple times, police said in a news release.
"When the female attempted to exit the train at Bronte Station, the male grabbed her and a brief struggle ensued before the female broke free and departed," police said.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, police say.
The suspect is described as:
- Male, 25 to 35 years old, light brown complexion
- Black hair, black goatee
- Wearing blue jogging pants and a black Puma hooded sweatshirt
- White New Balance high-top shoes
