Police seek to identify suspect in stolen vehicle investigation

Suspect attempted to flee and struck a police vehicle in the process, the suspect then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a stolen vehicle investigation.

On Friday November 1, 2024, at approximately 1:45 pm the police were called to a commercial address on the North Service Road in Oakville for a suspicious vehicle parked in a lot with a male inside.

As police arrived on scene, the suspect attempted to flee and immediately put the vehicle in motion striking a police vehicle in the process. The suspect then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

Investigation has determined the vehicle to be stolen out of York region and during a search of the car police located break and enter tools and electronic devices used in the commission of vehicle thefts.   

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’6” tall with short black hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt, grey pants and white shoes.
