Two arrested following LCBO break-in on New Year's Day

Police say male suspect was caught after hiding in a nearby home; female suspect arrested at the scene

Halton Police apprehended two suspects after a break-in at an Oakville LCBO early on New Year's Day.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. when officers interrupted the pair stealing alcohol after forcibly entering the store, police say.

The male suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot, while the female suspect was arrested at the location. Police say they pursued the male suspect into a nearby residential area, where he broke into a home in an attempt to hide. Officers located and arrested him.

Police say that a 41-year-old man, who has no fixed address, has been charged with:

  • Two counts of Break and Enter
  • Failing to Comply with a Release Order
  • Failing to Comply with a Probation Order

A 40-year-old woman from Mississauga has been charged with Break and Enter, police report.
