Weekly Oakville crime report: June 5-11

Halton Police responded to another decrease in cases this past week, but a large number since Monday

Halton Regional Police responded to 37 crime incidents in Oakville from June 5-11. 2024. Compared to the week before, the number of daily incidents dropped by 28.84%.

This past Monday, June 10 was the busiest day, with ten reported incidents. Bronte residents reported the greatest number of crimes in this period (8eight in total.)

In addition, eight reported incidents of property damage lesser than $5,000 were reported. Oakville residents are reminded to be mindful of their belongings at all times.

Over the past seven days, Halton Police responded to one incident of arson in Oakville. If this rate stayed consistent, there would be 36 incidents a year. In the last 30 days, however, there have been 4 incidents of arson.

In the past six months, there were nine incidents of arson in Oakville, and have been 14 in the past year.
