Oakville’s Remembrance Day Ceremony 2018 took place in George’s Square at Trafalgar Road and Sumner Avenue in Downtown Oakville.

Along side the many veterans stood our elected officials, the officials of the Emergency Responders and 100’s of citizens. All were there to pay their respects to the men and women who gave their lives to maintain our freedoms.

This year marked the Centennial of the Armistice of the First World War, which was the war that would end all wars. Unfortunately, this has not occurred.

Remembrance Day Ceremony 2018 in Oakville

The cenotaph, located in the square, is the primary site for Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Oakville. An additional Remembrance Day Ceremony took place today in Memorial Park in River Oaks.

This past Sunday the Bronte Legion Branch 486 held a parade. Finally, an Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon took place between Bronte’s Parade and Remembrance Day.
