Other than going for walks, having a coffee with friends or going for a swim, here is a list of the 2019 weekly events that take place in Oakville. They take place on a the same day every week.

Tuesdays
Oakville Wind Orchestra Performances
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The Oakville Wind Orchestra is Canada's oldest continuously operating community concert band. They perform on the Sail Stage located in Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. (Ontario Street and Bronte Road). This is a free event. On the 23rd they will be doing a food drive. Their last performance is August 6th.
Thursdays
Movies in the Square
Each week free family friendly movies will be shown in the Town's Square (94 George Street). Every week there will be a different movie. This event is weather dependent event.
Fridays
Songs of Summer Series
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Each week a different band will perform in the town's square (94 George Street). This is a free event. Parking is free in Downtown Oakville during the weekend
Saturdays
Farmers's Market
8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
22 farmers and vendors come to Dorval Cross East (Dorval Drive & North Service Road W). The Civitan Club has operated the market for years. It is a great way to each fresh locally produced food, and the Citivan Club donates money to local charities. A win win for our community.
Family Friendly Activities
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
All activities will be held in Towne Square (94 George St).
- Rotating art installations
- Yoga - 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- Giant Blocks 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Oakville Museum's Historic Buildings
1:30 PM to 4:00 PM
These historic buildings include Oakville's first Post Office and a fully functioning home. At both locations staff wear historically correct outfits and perform demonstrations. The buildings are located in Lakeside Park in Old Oakville (Navy Street and Lake Ontario).
Bronte Museum's Historic Sovereign House
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Volunteers manage Sovereign House. It is a heritage display centre. Visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour of the restored rooms with artifacts, photographs, archival documents and memorabilia. It is located by Bronte Harbour (West River Street and Lake Ontario).
