Sheridan College opens its doors to the public on May 7 for the Arts and Letters Creativity Showcase, taking place in Macdonald-Heaslip Hall at the Trafalgar Road Campus. This event will celebrate the publications and creative works of individuals from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Animation, Arts, and Design. Doors open at 5 pm. The event will begin with a reception and cash bar.
Featured artists from this diverse talent pool will present readings of their work, including:

Ian Williams, who was recently nominated for the prestigious Griffin Poetry Prize; Notable poet and editor Paul Vermeersch, author of four collections of poetry; and Sara Peters, whose first book, 1996, was recently published by House of Anansi Press. Her work has appeared in Slate, The Walrus, Poetry, This Magazine, and The Threepenny Review.
The evening will also feature a screening of Vladimir Kabelik’s latest film Beautifully Broken, a documentary featuring the life and work of Rafael Goldchain – Sheridan professor and one of Canada’s foremost photographers.

Michael Walsh, poet and author of Roughin’ it in the Bush;
Mary Lu Zahalan, cum laude graduate of the first Master’s program on the Beatles and author of Cultural Capital: The Beatles in Canada.
Heidi Overhill, co-author of Design Direct, which explores how digital manufacturing and the Web have led to new opportunities for designers to work as entrepreneurs.
Tony Falikowski, author of Higher Reality Therapy, a book of transformational wisdom.
Joe Morse, internationally acclaimed illustrator whose most recent book is Hoop Genius, How a Desperate Teacher and a Rowdy Gym Class Invented Basketball, written by John Coy.
