Oakville Eats: Peppino's Oven

Located in a strip mall in West Oak Trails is an Oakville food treasure, Peppino's Oven. This family run Pizzeria/Trattoria delivers good quality food, prepared with fresh ingredients and care. It's family friendly with it red and white checkered table clothes, rustic wood, mixed with nostalgic signs and artifacts. A large wooden bar dominates one side, and a large screen TV playing the latest game is on the other side of Peppino's. It provides a great place to grab a beer and watch the leafs - maybe it will become the "CHEERS" of West Oak Trails.

The chef and manager is the family's son, Beau Martino.  Beau went to Liason Culinary College in Oakville. He and his family opened up the restaurant 5 years ago, so you know they are doing something right.

The food is all fresh and prepared on-site. The pizza is thin crust. It ranges from your traditional pepperoni, mushroom and green peppers to a delicious potato pizza with its garlic infused olive oil, roasted red peppers, rosemary, and potato's. There is a good selection of appetizers, and I found the calamari particularly tasty, along with a solid chicken and caesar salad. There is a wide assortment of pasta as well as wings and sandwiches. Something for everyone.

Each time I've eaten at Peppino's Oven, the staff have been extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Food arrives in good time, and portion sizes are generous. The prices are as follows:

  • Starters: $3.99 to $10.99
  • Salads: $6.99 to $9.99
  • Pizza's: $9.99 to $19.99
  • Pasta's: $9.99 to $15.99
  • Sandwiches: $9.99

Peppino's Oven  has a patio, so eating al fresco is possible. The patio is not as nicely decorated as the interior, something they might want to consider as they grow. They also do take out, but not delivery. They are open for dinner at 5:00 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays. Lunch and dinner is available Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 10:00 AM. Saturday they close at 7:00 PM and Sunday at 5:00 PM, and all other days 9:00 PM. Peppino's is located at 2015 Kingsbridge Drive (Corner of Kingsbridge and south bound 3rd Line).
