Theatre Sheridan 2019-2020 Season has been announced, and as always it promises blockbuster musicals as well as lesser known masterpieces. This season includes:

Theatre Sheridan 2019-2020 Season

Newsies

Performance Dates: November 26 – December 8, 2019

Based on the Disney Film

Disney’s Newsies The Musical - the Tony Award-winning Broadway show is based on the historical newsboy strike of 1899 that shook the ivory towers of William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer. This band of underdogs lead by Jack Kelly rally to take a stand and strike against the most powerful newspaper publishers in the country. Soon their cause becomes even bigger than any of the newsies imagined when they realize they’re fighting for all the children working in unfair and unsafe conditions across the nation. It will leap onto the stage with soul stirring music, amazing heart, and stunning choreography.

Guido Contini, a famous Italian film director and ladies man who’s last couple of movies have been panned by the critics is under pressure to make a return to form with his latest film. However, there is one major problem: he hasn’t written a line of the script and has lost all inspiration. In an attempt to find peace and inspiration, he travels to a luxury spa near Venice. Only to be followed by his wife, Luisa, his saucy mistress, Carla, his fierce producer and her whole film crew. What ensues pushes him to face his ultimate fears within life and death.

Throughout, the Kit Kat Klub’s Emcee taunts and satirizes with dazzling musical numbers in a score that includes Wilkommen, Money (Makes the World Go Around), Maybe This Time, and the unforgettable title tune.
