Midnight Madness is an amazing night to experience Downtown Oakville. In order to provide the best experience for the community, the town closes down Lakeshore Road East, and several other streets running off Lakeshore.  Here are the details:


The following roadway(s) will be closed temporarily and local access through this area will not be maintained from July 15, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. on July 16, 2016:

  • Lakeshore Road East between Navy Street and Allan Street;
  • Thomas Street between Robinson Street and Church Street;
  • Dunn Street between Robinson Street and Church Street;
  • Trafalgar Road between Robinson Street and Church Street;
  • Reynolds Street between Robinson Street and Church Street;
  • George Street between Lakeshore Road East and Church Street


The following roadways will be designated as the primary detour route during the closure period:

  • Robinson Street
  • Church Street
  • Navy Street
  • Allan Street

Parking and Transportation

Parking in Downtown Oakville for Midnight Madness is always at a premium, so in order to ease congestion shuttle buses will leave the Oakville GO Station every 15 minutes and terminate in Downtown Oakville. Parking at the GO Station is free. It is also an easy walk from the GO station to Downtown, or even better hop on your bike.
