The Halton Regional Police Service has arrested one male in connection with a road rage incident that took place in Oakville on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.

A 40-year-old Brampton man has been charged with:

  1. ​Assault (2 counts)
  2. Dangerous Driving
  3. Mischief Under $5000
  4. Cause disturbance

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. on July 18, 2018, Halton Police officers responded to reports of an assault at the intersection of Fourth Line and North Service Road, in the Town of Oakville.

Investigation revealed that the accused, who was operating a motor vehicle at the time, had followed a second vehicle, occupied by two individuals, to the above-referenced intersection. The accused then exited his vehicle and repeatedly kicked the door of the second vehicle. A physical altercation ensued between the three parties, causing minor injuries to the two victims.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and was subsequently released on a promise to appear in court, scheduled for August 21, 2018.

The Halton Regional Police Service is reminding motorists to avoid engaging in a confrontation if targeted by an aggressive driver. If you feel your personal safety is at risk, call 9-1-1, remain in your vehicle and lock your doors.
