On November 2, 2019, a collaborative effort between 2 District Uniform Operations and the Criminal Investigations Bureau led to the identification and arrest of two persons believed to be responsible for a series of incidents that saw multiple vehicles intentionally damaged in an Oakville neighbourhood.

A 19 year-old male and a 20 year old male, both of Oakville, have been jointly charged with 36 counts of mischief under $5,000 for their alleged involvement in these incidents.

Both parties have been released on Promises to Appear and Undertakings with a future court date.

Between October 26, 2019 and November 1, 2019 the Palermo Region of Oakville was subject to a series of property damage incidents to unoccupied vehicles. The damage involved rocks, patio stones, or other objects of opportunity being thrown at or through windshields of vehicles parked in residential driveways. No thefts were reported from any of the damaged vehicles. The approximate cost to repair each vehicle was estimated at $500-$1,000.

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Initial Release

The Halton Regional Police Service is seeking assistance from the public after several vehicles were damaged during the early morning hours on October 26, 2019.

The unoccupied vehicles were all parked in residential driveways in the area of Upper Middle Road and Third Line.

DamagedPolice believe two male suspects ¬†travelled on foot and used landscaping rocks and stones found on the victim’s property to cause damage to the parked vehicles.

These incidents occurred around 5:00-5:30 a.m.
