The Oakville & Milton Humane Society is excited to announce that local artist and pet photographer Maria Bell has created a second Dogs of Oakville book. “Dogs of Oakville, New Beginnings” is the follow up to her sold-out first book, “Dogs of Oakville” that was produced in 2012, with all proceeds from the sale of the book donated to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society.

The first book was Maria’s love letter to all the wonderful dogs of Oakville, to benefit all the homeless dogs not yet as well loved as those in her book.

The first Dogs of Oakville book was a limited run of just 500 copies and sold out quickly, raising an incredible $25,000 for the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. Based on the success of the first book and the overwhelming requests for a second book, Maria Bell picked up her camera and began taking photos for a new book, to be called, “Dogs of Oakville, New Beginnings”. Supported by her good friend, Oralyn Whyte who helps to manage the distribution of the books, Maria has once again captured the beauty and unconditional love of many of the dogs that call Oakville home. Captured at many locations around town, “Dogs of Oakville, New Beginnings” will appeal to anyone who loves the dogs of Oakville, loves our town or just plain loves dogs.

Buoyed by the sell out of the first book, Maria has increased the number of copies of this limited edition coffee table book to 1,000 books. With a price of $50 each, Maria is hoping to sell out the second book and present a cheque to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society of $50,000.

A $50,000 donation to the OMHS is extraordinary. We are so incredibly grateful to Maria and Oralyn for taking on this wonderful project and know that with the support of the dog lovers of Oakville, they will sell every copy and make an enormous difference in the lives of the homeless animals of our community.

The “Dogs of Oakville, New Beginnings” book will be launched at a special event and book signing by Maria Bell at Ren’s Pet Depot in Oakville on Saturday May 31st from 10 AM to 4 PM. The first copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by Maria. Those attending the book launch will receive a special gift courtesy of Ren’s Pet Depot.

After the launch on May 31st copies of “Dogs of Oakville, New Beginnings” will be available for sale at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society as well as at local retailers. A full list of store locations is available at
