The Halton Regional Police Service, in cooperation with the Police Services Board is in the process of undertaking a review of its goals and objectives for the next three years.  These goals are important as it guides the Service in the delivery of services that are vital in maintaining the safety of the residents of Halton.
“In Halton, working in partnership with the community we serve is at the heart of how we deliver effective and efficient policing,” said Chief Steve Tanner.  “This is not just the Service’s plan; it is also the community’s plan.”

Over the past few months, the Police Service and the Police Services Board have undertaken consultation with some its key stakeholders and partners.  The Police Services Board is also providing an opportunity for the general public to provide their comments.  At its December 19th meeting, the Board will receive a draft of the Business Plan.  Time will be set aside for the public to offer their comment on the draft goals and priorities.  The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Community Room, Halton Regional Police Service Headquarters, 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville.

As of December 13th, the draft Plan will be available on the Service’s website at under the “In The Spotlight”.  Look for the link to the 2014 – 2016 Business Plan.  Following the meeting, members of the public will also be able to submit their written comments until January 9th, 2014.   At the January 23rd Police Services Board meeting, the final draft of the Business Plan will be submitted for adoption by the Police Services Board.

Members of the public are encouraged to have a say on what they feel is important.
