The Halton Regional Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance to identify two male suspects who are wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a 44 year old Oakville woman. The assault occurred as the victim was walking in the area of Postridge Drive and English Rose Lane (east of Trafalgar Rd, south of Dundas Street) in Oakville at approximately 9:05 p.m. on Monday October 7, 2013.

Police and ambulance were called to the area by a concerned citizen who came across the victim, who was disoriented but was able to indicate she had been attacked. The victim was transported to hospital to be treated for minor injuries for what was initially believed to be a physical attack. Upon further investigation, it was subsequently determined that the victim had been sexually assaulted and two suspects were involved.

Suspect #1 is described as: male, white, late teens to early twenties, short dark hair, and clean shaven. There is no description of Suspect #2 available at this time.

Halton Regional Police detectives do not believe that this occurrence is related to recent investigations involving young females that were inappropriately touched in the past six weeks in the trail systems in the area of Sheridan College.

Halton Regional Police offer the following prevention tips when walking:
• Walk with a purpose
• Be alert and attentive
• Avoid unlit streets and shortcuts through parks and/or vacant lots
• If you fear for your safety call 9-1-1

Additional personal safety tips can be found on our web site under “Community Policing” tab.
