Halton Regional Police have arrested three suspects following a spree of robberies and other criminal offences committed in Oakville and Mississauga.

On the evening of Tuesday, December 29, 2015 Peel police responded to two separate robberies committed in Mississauga. These incidents occurred at a convenience store and a gas station, the suspects being described as three males armed with handguns.

On Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at approximately 12:30 am Halton Police responded to a robbery at a Petro-Canada Gas Station in Joshua Creek at 8th Line and 1007 Upper Middle Road East in Oakville. The employee reported that three suspects armed with handguns stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing in a vehicle.

At approximately 1:00 am the same suspects are believed to have robbed a Tim Horton’s restaurant located at 228 Wyecroft Road between Dorval Drive and Kerr Street in Oakville. During this robbery an employee was threatened and assaulted by the suspects but was not seriously injured.

Shortly thereafter Peel Police reported a carjacking in Mississauga believed to be committed by the same suspects. The suspect vehicle was later observed by police back in Oakville travelling westbound on the QEW and later westbound on Dundas St towards Waterdown. The suspect vehicle continued to evade police and travelled south on Highway 6, along the 403 towards the Niagara Bound QEW. The suspects eventually came to a stop in the area of Pier 25 in Hamilton. One suspect was arrested immediately and a short time later the other two suspects were also arrested with the assistance of Canine officers.

Ashton GANGADEEN, 19 years of Brampton and two young persons have been jointly charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing.

  • Robbery Using a Firearm – 6 counts
  • Wear Disguise during Commission of Indictable Offence – 6 counts
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – 2 counts
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – 1 count
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in a Motor Vehicle – 1 count.
  • Fail to comply with Recognizance and Probation – 12 counts.
