With energy and environmental issues converging at senior levels of government and business today, The Future of Energy Symposium on Friday, June 5, 2015 provides an opportune time for the industry’s decision makers and innovators to gather to discuss these issues. The Oakville Chamber of Commerce and Professional Engineers of Ontario Oakville Chapter (PEO) are pleased to host this one-day symposium at the Oakville Conference Centre.

Ontario Minister of Energy, Bob Chiarelli, will kick off the event with a keynote presentation, followed by an impressive lineup of expert speakers including Mr. Kim Warren, Vice President, Market and System Operations and Chief Operating Officer for the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), and Bob Oliver, P.Eng., Chief Executive Officer for Pollution Probe.

“Today, probably more so than any period before, we face significant opportunities for innovation and change in the energy sector,” says Chamber Chair Kerry Colborne. “That’s why we are so pleased to offer an event to discuss how current leaders plan to respond to the issues facing this industry.”

The symposium will be divided into four topics, covering Fossil Fuels, Alternate Energy Sources, Nuclear, and Emerging Issues. Guests will be invited to participate in a moderated Q&A following each session’s presentation.

“With industry leaders from finance, nuclear power, fossil fuels, alternate energy, environmental protection, and infrastructure, this symposium will cover a spectrum of issues facing us over the next thirty years,” says Sohail Naseer, Chair, Oakville Chapter Professional Engineers Ontario. “We encourage our guests to ask questions and meet industry experts at this unique event.”

The Cost: for attending the event is Members $65; Non-members $75; and Students $45. To register visit Energy Symposium Oakville.
