I am thrilled to report that the New State-of-the-Art Oakville Hospital is more than 65% complete.

The Premier and I remain committed to transforming our health care system into one that delivers timely, affordable, patient-centered care, so that you and your family can continue to receive the best possible health care at the best value, close to home.

The estimated 1.6 million square-foot hospital is on time and on schedule for substantial completion by summer 2015 with an opening targeted for December 2015. Approximately 1000 men and women are working on the hospital daily to ensure its completion. Behind the walls of the hospital many of the construction projects are well underway;

  • Waterproofing and damp proofing almost complete
  • Parking garage is almost complete
  • Mechanical and electrical rough-ins are underway in buildings A, C and D up to level 5
  • Work ongoing in Penthouses both mechanical and electrical
  • Roofing ongoing on all buildings
  • Sanitary sewer tunnel on Third Line is complete
  • Asphalt paving, curbs 60% complete
  • Interior courtyard hard landscaping complete
  • Painting underway in a number of areas
  • Flooring underway in a number of areas

From the strongest start early in life to dignity in our final years, and the best possible care in between, the Wynne Government continues to work hard to improve our health care system as it undergoes it’s largest transformation in over 50 years.
