On April 19th 2013, Halton Police were called to White Oaks Secondary School in regards to fears that a retaliatory attack against students from the high school could occur.  The incident originally stemmed from an altercation at the school the previous day involving youths not from White Oaks Secondary School.

High School Liaison Officers conducted an investigation and spoke with several of the involved students and staff at White Oaks.   Information was received from staff reporting that they believed weapons could be present at the school.
White Oaks staff eventually stopped and spoke to a youth who was found to be concealing knives, wrenches and other weapons in his backpack.
Police were summoned and the youth was arrested.  The youth was transported to the Oakville police station where he was charged with possessing weapons dangerous to the public peace and carrying a concealed weapon.
The youth was later released to his parents on a Promise to Appear and an Undertaking.
Reports of a firearm at the school are unsubstantiated.  There were no injuries to any students at White Oaks.
Police continue to investigate this incident and are asking parents/guardians of students at White Oaks to speak with their children and encourage them to report any information relating to this incident to police.
