Here is the comprehensive list of events happening in Oakville this weekend: March 2, 3 & 4-2018. There is just three weeks left of winter. A classic Canadian tradition is tapping sugar maple, red maple, or black maple trees, although it can also be made from other maple species to make delicious maple syrup. It is being made at Bronte Creek Provincial Park.

The indigenous people of Canada introduced the practice of making maple syrup to European settlers. There were several indigenous rituals which revolved around the making of maple syrup which included honouring the new spring moon (maple moon) with a maple dance. However the exact origins are difficult to determine.

Aside from taking part in the Maple Syrup Festival you can purchase a book from the Friends of the Library Books Sale or listen to the Oakville Chamber Orchestra.

Have a great weekend.
