According to figures released today by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of sales were up 23.7 per cent in December compared to the same period in 2012. Monthly sales totalled 350 compared to 283 in December 2012. The number of year-to-date sales increased by 10.2 per cent.
“Oakville and Milton experienced a high volume of property transactions to conclude 2013 on a firm note,” said Jack McCrudden, President of OMDREB. “The real estate market in Halton remained healthy and we expect this to continue in 2014.”
The dollar volume of all sales processed through the OMDREB MLS® system increased in December 2013 to $180,961,803 from $123,555,873 in December 2012– a jump of 46.5 percent. The dollar volume of sales year to date increased by 9.7 per cent year over year from 2012 to 2013.
Oakville’s median sale price for the month of December was $607,400, an increase of 10.4 per cent compared to December 2012.
