After more than week of snow clearing, staff from the town of Oakville say that the plowing of "Regional, Primary, Secondary and residential roads" is at last finished.

Oakville has seen over 65 centimetres of snow in the last ten days,

"Having received more than 65 centimetres of snow during four concurrent snowfalls between February 10 and 17, the town of Oakville remains under a significant weather event declaration and snow clearing efforts continue," says the town.

While Regional, Primary, Secondary and residential roads, as well as laneway plowing is complete, staff for the town say they expect "Removal of snow piles in laneways will be completed by end of day Friday, February 21, 2025."

The town is now focusing on clearing sidewalks:

  • The first round of Primary sidewalk clearing is well underway and expected to be completed by Saturday, with Secondary sidewalks expected to be completed by Sunday – this includes all sidewalks leading to schools.
  • Residential sidewalk clearing will begin this weekend and is expected to be completed by Monday, March 10, 2025.
  • The first round of sidewalk clearing will make them passible, with a layer of at least a few centimetres of snow – subsequent clearing will be completed to improve conditions.

"Crews continue to work around the clock to complete the cleanup from the significant snow accumulation and, subject to no additional accumulation from future snow events, will complete the cleanup by the dates noted above."
