The town of Oakville says its crews are working 24/7 to clear roads and sidewalks following a major snowstorm that hit the area from Saturday, Feb. 15, to Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025. The snowfall, estimated between 15 cm and 25 cm, marks the second major storm in the past week.
“The only way to remove this snow is to work around the clock,” the Town said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) Monday evening. Staff also warned residents to expect increased noise from snow removal efforts. “We understand it may be inconvenient, but it’s essential to ensure thorough snow removal,” the post continued.
Despite ongoing efforts, some residential roads and sidewalks remain uncleared. As a result, the Town has prioritized primary and secondary roads — including major bus routes — before shifting focus to local streets.
Town officials estimate that residential roads and laneways could be cleared by Tuesday evening, Feb. 18.
This latest storm follows a snowfall of nearly 20 cm last Wednesday evening, which prompted Oakville to declare a "significant weather event" and ask residents for patience as it worked on snow clearance.
