Fire damage to Oakville grocery store spurs investigation

Police allege that an industrial sized recycling bin was set on fire by three suspects.

Halton Police are investigating an early morning incident on Wednesday as arson after they allege three suspects set fire to recycling bins at an Oakville grocery store.

On April 24, 2024, at approximately 2 a.m., Halton Police responded to Whole Foods Market, located at 301 Cornwall Road.

According to Halton Police Constable Jeff Dillon, an industrial-sized recycling bin was set on fire by three suspects which then spread to adjacent bins.

Oakville fire responded to put out the flames but the fire had already damaged eight to ten recycling bins. The estimated cost of damages to the bins is $800.

The suspects could only be described as two males and one female all wearing dark coloured clothing.
