Winter Commute Month is in full swing and the town of Oakville is encouraging residents to rethink their daily travel habits.
With a network of 22 public transit routes, ride-on-demand services, specialized transit, and numerous bike lanes and recreational trails, Oakville offers a range of options for sustainable travel.
1. Exploring new commuting options
Residents are encouraged to shift their routines by choosing more environmentally friendly travel methods. Whether through public transit, cycling, walking, or carpooling, small changes can contribute to a more sustainable community.
2. Tracking trips for a chance to win
The Smart Commute app allows participants to log their trips and measure their carbon footprint. Every recorded trip enters participants into a draw for a $50 gift card, with nine of them available.
3. Attending educational events
