Local Oakville resident Alex Bonenfant has created a Christmas themed light show synchronized to music outside of his house in the River Oaks area, and it's raising money for a great cause.

The display has been a passion project for Alex for many years and he has put it on display for the holiday season.

"As a kid, Christmas lights always fascinated me. Driving around looking at all the displays was the highlight of my childhood," said Alex.

"I had a burning desire to make my own display when I was old enough, because I thought this was the coolest thing you could do."

The passion project began for Alex back in 2017 where he created a small light show and began to grow the display over the years.

Now it has become an attraction to his neighbourhood and the town at large.

Alex has also used this display to help those during the holiday season, he began to accept donations of non-perishable food items for the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank and monetary donations that he used to support the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre (OPNC).

People who are interested in viewing the display can go to 306 Leacock Avenue, and tune their car radio to 92.3FM to listen to the light show.
