A four-lane detour is being developed on the Oakville, or east side, of Burloak Drive south of Harvester/Wyecroft roads to avoid a 14-month shutdown while the grade separation is being added. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.

A proposed 14 month road closure along Burloak for the Burloak Grade Separation will not be happening. Instead, a four-lane detour road is to be built along Burloak Drive.

The separation is intended to separate the road from the railroad tracks, which will let the GO Train go through more often, let traffic flow easier, and enhance pedestrian safety.

The news was reported in Oakville News last December 2024, though "minor preparation work will start this year," according to Burlington Ward 5 councillor Paul Sharman’s newsletter.

More updates will be available in 2026. Short term road closures, up to 30-days, will still be required for construction of the Burloak Grade Separation.
