An Oakville doctor has been awarded a special certificate from the Ontario College of Family Physicians after being nominated by one of their patients.
Dr. Sherry Luik has been recognized by a patient of hers for her care and dedication, after nominations were sought with the question asking, 'Tell us how your family doctor has gone above and beyond for you.'
“Dr. Sue became our family doctor after she joined the practice at Sheddon Medical and took over the patients from our previous family doctor, who we had a good relationship with for over 20 years."
"Dr. Sue has far exceeded my expectations as she immediately provided each family member with great care when needed, and has been an excellent communicator in person, by phone or email. She is attentive, informative, and leaves you feeling that she is not only extremely competent but genuinely concerned for the well-being of her patients. She is a great asset to this practice and the community.”
This great compliment from one of Sherry's patients took to the eye of the Ontario College of Family Physicians, as they are looking to recognize their doctors for their care.
In its inaugural year, the Ontario College of Family Physicians are beginning campaign to highlight the essential role of family physicians.
The organization is recognizing more than 750 doctors for their great care. These doctors were given recognition through their own patients as the organization released a memo to the public.
The responses they received were overwhelming, and Sherry Luik's kind words from her patient was one of those amazing messages.
All doctors who were nominated for the campaign will receive a certificate from the Ontario College of Family Physicians for their amazing care.
