Get ready for a year of construction: Halton Region has confirmed that the construction at 1258 Rebecca Street is estimated to be finished in December 2025.
The construction originally began last week with the intention of building 14 semi-detached one-bedroom bungalows for seniors. Oakville News first reported news of the construction on Nov. 5.

The construction announcement initially did not report a targeted end date for the project.
Halton staff say building these new housing units will "help accommodate the increase of supportive senior housing in Oakville."
Due to the construction, however, Halton Region is warning nearby residents for some "upcoming disturbances," including:
- Dust and mud: There could be a rise in dust and mud near the construction site. The contractor will attempt to control these impacts.
- Erosion and sediment controls: Halton Region will be installing erosion and sediment control measures for the length of the project, including tree protection fence and perimeter fencing with heavy-duty silt fabric.
- Noise: Residents may encounter some noise as a result of this Regional improvement. Halton will schedule work in accordance with nearby noise by-laws and make every attempt to minimize any disturbances or inconvenience to the surrounding community.
- Truck traffic: Residents will notice intermittent increases in truck traffic around the ongoing work. Please be cautious and use extra caution while driving.
They have hired Assembly Corp. and Jackman Construction Limited for design and construction to complete the project.
