Time for some new equipment: The YMCA of Oakville is recognizing their receiving a $150,000 capital Trillium Foundation grant to make facility upgrades.
"As we gather to recognize the incredible support from our donors, we celebrate the vital role they play in shaping the future of our community," said Kyle Barber, CEO of the YMCA of Oakville.
"Their contributions empower us to develop programs that enhance the well-being of Oakville residents and strengthen our community. In particular, we thank OTF and the Government of Ontario for their support in extending the life of our Health and Fitness Centre."
Awarded in September 2023, the grant supported the purchase of a new HVAC unit for the YMCA’s Health and Fitness Centre. The YMCA says this "improvement will improve climate control and comfort for the space and extend the life of the facility. This essential financial support has made it possible for the YMCA of Oakville to develop a number of projects that have benefited the wider community."
On Tuesday, Nov. 12, the YMCA of Oakville hosted an event to recognize and extend its heartfelt gratitude to all 2024 donors for the significant impact of their donations.
Local MPP Stephen Crawford was in attendance to recognize a $150,000 Capital grant the YMCA of Oakville received from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).
"I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful announcement from our government through the Ontario Trillium Foundation to support YMCA of Oakville," said Stephen Crawford, MPP for Oakville.
"This investment of $150,000 Capital Grant will allow YMCA of Oakville to replace aging equipment so that they may continue to offer the support to those in our community who they continue to bring together through messages of belonging, support and empowerment."
The YMCA of Oakville is a charity that self describes their work to "connect people and builds health and well-being for our community."
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities across the province.
