Oakville's own Morgan Giannone was been named the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) forward of the week from October 20th-27th after scoring seven points in two games during Robert Morris' weekend sweep against Saint Anselm.
Giannone scored three goals and added four assists including a career-high four point performance in Game 1.
Giannone describes herself as a hard working player as well as a play-maker who prefers to move the puck up the ice.
But outside of her on ice abilities, Giannone is majoring in health sciences with the hopes of pursuing a career in the field of physical therapy or chiropractic therapy.
"As an athlete and spending a lot of time in the treatment room and being around [those aspects of athletics] and how we keep ourselves healthy was a big factor," Giannone said on why she chose her major.
Giannone attributes a lot of her success on the ice to her attention to taking care of her body before the game.
She uses a massage gun 3-4 times a week where she massages her entire body and she has her own suction cups that she uses two times a week in order to release any tension in her body to prepare for the game ahead.
A wonderful way to incorporate both of your passions together to give you the best chance to thrive.
