Chalk up another record for Oakville's Michael Misa.
The 18-year-old broke the Saginaw Spirit's single-season point scoring record after his two-assist performance in Saturday night's game against the Guelph Storm.
Misa now sits alone in the Spirit's record books with 112 points this season and counting, beating the previous record of 111 that was set by Winnipeg Jets forward Cole Perfetti.
Not only is 112 the best in Spirit franchise history, but Misa's point totals are currently number one in the OHL.
With a current 13 point lead over the second closest player, Misa looks like he will run away with the OHL scoring race barring any injury trouble.
This incredible record and season couldn't have come at a better time for Misa as he will be drafted into the NHL in June and is expected to challenge for the first overall pick which will put him in elite company with the likes of Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, and Sidney Crosby.
Misa has always shined under the spotlight as he was one of only seven players in the history of the OHL to be granted exceptional status which allowed him to join the OHL at 15-years-old.
Now three years later, he is exceeding all expectations, breaking records, and becoming one of the best players in his age group.
