Oakville's Nick Lardis of the Brantford Bulldogs had himself quite the game last Saturday night against the Brampton Steelheads: not only did he score his 100th career OHL goal, but he also recorded a hat trick.
Goal number 100 of his career was his second goal of the game - and it was a classic Lardis goal.
With the Bulldogs on the power play, Lardis' original shot was blocked but it was picked up by his teammate Patrick Brown. He was able to find some open space, and Brown sent him a pass with a wide open net.
Lardis buried the chance score, his 100th of his career, and give the Bulldogs the 4-3 lead.
That goal turned out to be the game-winning goal for the Bulldogs, as Lardis would then score an empty net goal for the hat trick giving the Bulldogs a 5-3 lead.
This goal is an amalgamation of an incredible OHL career for Lardis; he originally started his career with the Peterborough Petes and was traded to the Bulldogs in his second season.
Once he was traded to the Bulldogs, his career took off and he found an incredible amount of success and started to move up NHL Draft rankings.
He was eventually chosen in the third round 67th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks and signed his Entry-Level contract with the team in spring 2024.
Lardis is now in what is most likely his final year in the OHL before he plays professional hockey, and still has some goals to hit before his junior career finishes.
He'll almost certainly have a chance try out for Team Canada's World Junior team in December and his Brantford Bulldogs are looking to capture an OHL title by the end of this season.
