At the Special Board Meeting held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) announced a ratified Memorandum of Settlement with the Halton OECTA Elementary Teachers. The agreement is effective September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2017.
The Board received notice to bargain locally from OECTA Elementary on September 4, 2015 to renew the current 2012-2014 collective agreement between the parties. On Tuesday, August 25, 2015, the Ministry of Education, Catholic school boards, and the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association (OECTA) reached a tentative agreement on central terms for elementary and secondary teachers in our Catholic schools.There are currently 1,240 contract and 116 occasional elementary teachers employed at the HCDSB.
Members of the Halton OECTA Elementary Teachers held their ratification meeting on February 25, 2016, and voted in support of the Memorandum of Settlement.
