Anika Toth - O.S.C. Goalkeeper signs with University of Alabama

The Oakville Soccer Club is proud to announce that goalkeeper Anika Toth has signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). As a future Blazer, Toth will be studying Health Sciences at this NCAA Division I school beginning in July 2020.

Anika is currently attending King's Christian Collegiate in Oakville, ON. A member of the Oakville soccer Club for several years, Toth is currently a U17 playing in the Club’s U21 Women’s program.  Additionally, Anika has played for the Ontario Provincial team as well as the Slovakia Women’s National Football Team numerous times in various competitions.

When asked what influenced her decision to attend UAB, Anika cited the school's strong academic and athletic programs, also noting that the team environment and coaching staff would be a good fit for her as a player. Toth credits her coaches at OSC for helping her to develop by providing her with a competitive environment.

“It was a pleasure coaching Anika at the U21 level,” said Chris Grierson, OSC Senior Technical Director. “Her level of professionalism and work ethic is first class and I am sure UAB will benefit greatly from having her as a part of their team.”

After signing her Letter of Intent, Toth said, "I would like to thank my family and coaches for making this opportunity possible and helping me achieve my goals!"
