Last night’s 60th Annual Chair’s Dinner, hosted by the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, was attended by 450 guests eager to hear CBC News Chief Correspondent Peter Mansbridge deliver his keynote address.

The audience was riveted by Mr. Mansbridge’s personal stories recounting some of his most memorable experiences as a reporter and broadcaster, including his personal favourite – an interview with U.S. President Barack Obama, weeks after he first took office. Sharing personal stories that were as entertaining as they were inspiring, he impressed upon the crowd his admiration for leaders of all stripes. Whether a leader in politics, business, or the community, he said they each share a genuine desire to make positive change.

The 60th Annual Chair’s Dinner, which took place at the Oakville Conference Centre, celebrated the outstanding contribution and leadership provided by outgoing Chamber Chair Orla Johnston and welcomed new Chair, Kerry Colborne. Kerry is the owner of Force 10 Capital Management, which she founded in 2007 after an extensive international career in the finance, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. The Oakville Chamber is pleased to welcome this seasoned business leader who has served as a Director of the board since 2008, and Vice-Chair since 2011.

“Last night’s dinner was an inspiring start to my term as the Chamber’s new Chair of the Board,” said Kerry Colborne. “Peter Mansbridge is a remarkable speaker and the event, itself, was a phenomenal success.”
